Associate Attorney

Commercial Litigation Associate

Starting Salary: $170,000 - $200,000

Hybrid Work Schedule 

Position Overview
This role is for an AM200 firm seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Associate to join the dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in litigation and contract law, with a focus on representing clients in various commercial disputes. This role aims to provide legal expertise and support to clients throughout the litigation process, ensuring effective case management and comprehensive legal strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Perform case management tasks, including tracking deadlines and coordinating with clients and opposing counsel.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in WA State.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation, complex civil litigation or a related field.
• Excellent legal writing and research skills.
• Proven ability in negotiation and client communication.
• Experience with discovery processes and trial preparation.
• Familiarity with mediation and arbitration procedures.
