Industrial Painter

The Industrial Painter is responsible for painting pieces of metal components used in heavy machinery natural gas generators. Typical duties include prepping, painting, and ensure all pieces are properly coated and dried.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting using appropriate cleaning agents, sanding, sandblasting, and grinding.
• Apply correct primer and paint coatings to industrial surfaces using brushes and spraying equipment.
• Ensure that all surfaces are properly coated and dried before finishing the job.
• May work from elevations using scaffolding.
• Works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
• May work in areas with hazardous chemicals.
• Maintain an inventory of required supplies.
• Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
• Use the correct tools and use them safely.
• Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
• Abide by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
• Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification from a vocational school or trade school preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of industrial painter experience is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and meet deadlines.
• Excellent knowledge of industrial coatings and painting processes.
• Excellent knowledge of VOC requirements.
• Ability to operate shop equipment used in painting such as pneumatic machinery, sandblasters, sanders, and grinders.
• Painting certifications may be required.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Read and follow complex directions in manuals and relay information in reports.
• Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to work legally in the US.
• Pass a drug screening.
• Clean motor vehicle record.
