Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Overview

This remote interpreting position involves delivering prehensive sign language interpretation services for students participating in virtual educational programs. You'll work with cutting-edge educational technology to facilitate seamless munication between students, teachers, and educational support teams across various academic disciplines.

Weekly mitment : 35-37.5 hours Student Caseload : 20-30 students in virtual classroom environments Academic Levels : Elementary through High School with focus on middle grades Service Delivery : Live virtual interpretation using secure, FERPA-pliant platforms

Essential Duties

• Provide accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during virtual educational sessions
• Ensure student understanding and engagement in online learning activities
• Adapt interpretation style to match student age groups and subject matter plexity
• Work closely with virtual classroom teachers to maximize accessibility and learning outes
• Document interpretation services and municate relevant student needs to educational teams
• Contribute to IEP development and review processes through virtual meeting participation
• Maintain professional munication with students, families, and educational staff

Minimum Requirements

• EIPA Certification : 3.5 score required for consideration
• School-Based Experience : Minimum 2 years in educational interpreting settings
• Technical Skills : Proficiency with virtual platforms and educational software applications

Preferred Credentials

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
• Written EIPA certification
• RID/NIC certification with written examination ponent
