Job Title: Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school in North Seattle, is recruiting for a Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach , starting no later than June 1, 2025. The season officially begins on Monday, November 17, 2025, and ends with the state tournament on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Responsibilities include coaching the varsity team and overseeing the entire girls basketball program, which includes two high school teams and at least four middle school teams.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, CYO, and WIAA policies and procedures.
Support a diverse student body with varied experiences and levels of athletic preparation.
Supervise and instruct student-athletes during team activities.
Maintain and inventory team equipment and apparel.
Manage the team budget and coordinate hiring processes.
Develop the long-term vision for the girls basketball program.
Oversee practice plans and foster a positive team culture.
Be a consistent presence on campus throughout the year.
Encourage multi-sport participation and promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life.

Requirements and Qualifications

At least 25 years of age, with a clean driving record and a valid Washington state drivers license.
Availability for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during the coaching season, including weekends as needed.
Experience coaching basketball at club, high school, or college levels.
Current First Aid/CPR certification or willing to obtain prior to the season.
Satisfactory completion of two criminal background checks.

Compensation

Stipend Range: $8,000 - $12,000. Stipends are paid monthly. Benefits include Lakeside Athletics apparel and funds for professional development. Questions can be directed to Chris Hartley.
